Praedial Larceny Prevention Coordination Unit -PLPU

The PLPU was commissioned into service on March 2, 2015. The Unit comprises of an administrative arm which is housed inside of the MoAF and an enforcement arm led by the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), partnering with the Ministry of National Security (MNS), Jamaica Agricultural Society (JAS), the Rural Development Authority (RADA), Ministry of Health (MOH), Crime Stop and other stakeholders. The PLPU’s main objective is to curtail praedial larceny and other farm theft across the island.

Rural Agricultural Development Authority (RADA)

According to Section 1 of the the RADA Act of 1990, the agency is involved in activities rearing the development and maintenance of pastures, the keeping or breeding of livestock. They provide assistance to facilitate the enhancement of soil productivity and/or rehabilitation. They also provide agricultural extensions services such as training and development, technical and advisory support, which play a critical role in boosting and promoting agricultural development and profitability.
